Huntoon Community Garden

Established 1938 · Stewarded by Last Stand Brand since 1998

The Huntoon Community Garden was originally planted in 1938 as a Victory Garden — part of a nationwide movement encouraging neighborhoods to grow food locally during times of uncertainty.

For generations, this corner of Topeka has produced vegetables, strengthened community ties, and demonstrated the power of land cared for intentionally.

In 1998, Last Stand Brand assumed stewardship of the garden, continuing its mission of food security, land care, and neighborhood resilience.
